Space is a most curious thing. Light is one of the purest materials. It is what makes it possible to perceive space that we cannot otherwise see or touch. It is the only material that doesn’t come with a narrative. Light is the root of beauty. When density becomes limitlessly low, and reaches the limit where people can feel some kind of existence, the material loses its materiality, and becomes a quality. People feel as if they were surrounded by light particles. The natural phenomena that we find beautiful are often linked to light. The former Röderberg brewery, which later became home to the O25 discotheque, is the site for this installation, which requires complete darkness. Deep in the mountain, on the slope of the Röderbergweg, the stone cellar is completely dark.
